Get to Know Tyler, Recruiter for Prolink Dayton

September 23, 2019

Your creative passion is clear to anyone who meets you. What ignited your love for creating audio and video content?

It’s a funny story, I’ve always been overly intrigued with video creation. The moment I decided to take it seriously was a few short months before I started working for Prolink. I took just a basic camera I had at home and decided to go film a friend of mine at a music festival. I felt very natural and comfortable while I was behind the camera. Once I edited the footage and presented it to my friends, their reaction just completed the experience for me.

How did you get here? What was it about Prolink that sparked your interest?

The story of how I got here is interesting. For my 24th birthday I treated myself to an extended weekend trip to NYC. It was my first time being to New York City as well as my first plane ride. I went with my best friend, who I’ve known since I was 7. I was coming back home to a job that I was just burnt out on. His older brother, who I also was very close with, was an AM in the Cincinnati office at the time. We talked for about an hour when I got home, next thing I knew I was interviewing. It was a quick turnaround. Going through the interview process I saw something that my job at the time was missing, personality. Prolink offered a family-oriented environment as well as personal and professional growth. Since I’ve started, I’ve seen proof of that over and over again.

You were born and raised in Gem City. What keeps you there?

Dayton has been my home forever, born and raised. Being from here comes with a level of pride unlike any other place I’ve been. Over the years we’ve had our ups and downs, but nothing has cemented my love for this city more than the bounce back we’ve had since the shooting. This will be my home forever and I’ll always be #gemcitystrong.

What is your favorite meal to cook for someone else?

My favorite meal to cook for others is steak. Season it with nothing but salt and   pepper, cook it on the stove in high heat with a little olive oil. Then finish it off with a little butter in the pan. Once I get it to about medium, I let it rest. Perfecto.

What band/artist do you love but would be hesitant to tell anyone because of the weird looks they might give you?

The group that I really enjoy listening to that most people would look at me funny for liking is $uicideboy$. They are two cousins from New Orleans that rap together, it’s very weird. Very inappropriate for work, but something I listen to at home or on my drive to and from work.

Of all the cities you've been to, which did you connect with more than any other? Why?

Of all the cities I’ve been to, the one I feel the most connected to is New York City. It’s literal pizza heaven, and I was on strict pizza diet while I was there. London was great, but their pizza options just aren’t the same.

You have two adorable pups. Tell us about them!

I have two wonderful Miniature Schnauzers; they are my whole life. Lily, I’ve had since I graduated high school, is now 5 years old. She’s a wonderful sweetheart who would never hurt a fly, she loves to be loved. Jackson, who just turned 2 years old, is my other dog. I got him two years ago from someone in Columbus while he was a puppy. He is the obnoxious, troublemaker of the pair. He’s a merle schnauzer, so unique looking for the breed. Anyone who has ever met them tells me that I’m lucky to have such a great duo in my life and honestly I couldn’t agree more.

Best concert you’ve ever been to, why? Worst concert, why?

When I was 13, my mother took me to my first concert in Columbus. We saw Linkin Park, my favorite band of all time, still to this day. I was the kid who always played their CD playing at home or in my portable cd player. I knew all their music by heart, so it was pretty amazing hearing it all live.
