Role & Responsibilities

Process Excellence& Problem Solving

  • Plan/storyboard with cross-functional teams to understand the questions/scoring mechanismsand set a clear path for the proposal team to deliver a bid that’s in line with our strategy
  • Proofreading and editing responses to ensure compliant, compelling, benefits-driven copy
  • Capture all new content and maintain in the proposal content library, recording and sharing lessons learned/best practices
  • Identify creative ways to present Prolink’s value proposition supporting client pursuits

Communication & Collaboration

  • Take a proactive role in the writing of standard content/CVs/project profiles - closing gaps where possible by interviewing/questioning relevant parts of the business
  • Take the lead in writing compelling executive summaries and RFPs
  • Translate identified messages into copy that differentiates Prolink and addresses specific client needs
  • Travel to on-site client meetings as part of the RFP process, as necessary
  • During intervals between bid needs, write clear short and long-form content for multiple placements, including but not limited to videos, social media, blog posts, web pages and email
  • Develop proposal content consistent with the Proposal Team's voice, design, and formatting standards

Customer Focus& Sector Expertise

  • Exhibit knowledge in clients and specialized industries as assigned
  • Government Proposal Writer
    • Develop effective Federal Government proposal responses, supporting content creation, management, and editing
    • Understand the nuances, issues, and value drivers within the public sector and craft industry-specific proposals that resonate with clients
    • Gather and maintain a matrix of government proposal requirements and documentation and share this periodically to support cross-training within the team

Minimum Position Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, journalism, marketing/communications, creative writing, or other related degree
  • 5+ years of experience in any of the following areas: project management, proposal writing, creative writing, content development or pursuits; preferably within a professional service firm or advertising agency 
  • 4+ years of experience in Federal Government proposal writing
  • Experience conceptualizing, writing, and reviewing highly creative executive summaries, scripts,promotional materials, and other story telling needs tailored to influencing clients and customers is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as narrative storytelling
  • Confident working in fast-paced, time-sensitive, corporate environment, dealing with executive-level decision makers and critical business issues
  • Able to analyze and organize RFP requirements, helping identify priority issues and timelineconstraints
  • Able to analyze proposal responses to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Able to identify appropriate sources for information and assess the validity/applicability of that information
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to learning
  • Familiarity with Federal Government business development, capture management, process and/or proposal writing
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Adaptable to writing style and familiar with persuasive business writing
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to assist with other proposal types and deliverables to support Marketing and Sales, as needed
  • Commitment to collaborative work and communication to achieve shared goals
  • Up to 25% travel may be required for this role
