The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Administer & monitor general anesthesia or monitored sedation
  • Airway management including mechanical ventilation
  • Placement of peripheral intravenous catheters
  • Pre-anesthesia evaluation
  • Post anesthesia care/discharge
  • Evaluate laboratory & diagnostic studies
  • Proficient in pain management
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development principles, from neonate to geriatrics

Ideal candidates for the role will have the following: 

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in State of Illinois
  • Completed AANA approved course in Anesthesia
  • Masters degree required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist or new graduate who is eligible for certification
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS and ACLS certification required
  • NRP certification required before completing their orientation period
  • Knowledge of Epidurals
