Responsibilities:    
Collaborate with physicians for patient care.  
Responsible for treating patients with serious illnesses, injuries, and other medical emergencies when they arrive at a hospital.
Includes taking vital signs, administering medications, performing EKGs and x-rays, assisting in surgeries, and dealing with emotional trauma.
Develop a patient care plan after evaluating injuries, set bones, give blood transfusions or run tests to determine the medical needs of  patients.


Internal Pay Scale Range:    
$36.00 - New Grad, pay will increase based on experience and internal equity.
   

Must Haves:     
License: IL RN license    
Certification: CPR/BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. 
*ACLS, PALS, and NIH required within 3 months of hire but preferred to have upon hire.     
Experience: 1 year ED RN experience required    
Education: Associates Degree or higher in Nursing.  
*If Associates Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021).     
    

Preferred:    
Additional preferred certifications: TNCC/TNS and ECRN.

Beds:    44
Patient Population:    Wide range of patient population as an ED sees/treats everything. Pediatric ED open 9a-1a. Level II trauma center. Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Average # of Admits per day:    Average daily ED census is 240.  
Nurse to Patient Ratio:    1:3-4, Changes based on acuity.
Are there any opportunities for growth?    Clinical Educator, RN Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Manager, Clinical Director.  There are also many opportunities to sit on committees.
