Prolink is partnered with an established law firm in Park Hills, Kentucky seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to provide direct administrative and legal support to attorneys.
This is a higher-level legal support position for someone who already understands the organization, communication and attention to detail required in a law firm environment. The ideal candidate can manage attorney priorities, prepare professional legal documents and correspondence, maintain files and deadlines, and help keep matters moving efficiently.
Experience within foreclosure, creditors' rights or default services is helpful, but the primary focus is finding someone with established legal support experience who can work directly with attorneys and take ownership of their day-to-day administrative needs.
Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to attorneys
Prepare, format, edit and proofread legal documents, correspondence and other materials
Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments and case-related schedules
Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files
Assist with court filings, document submissions and case administration
Track deadlines and follow up on outstanding documents or information
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel and other outside parties
Coordinate meetings, correspondence and attorney workflow
Enter and maintain accurate information within legal and document management systems
Assist with attorney time entry, billing support and other administrative functions as needed
Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Work closely with attorneys and other staff to keep matters organized and moving forward
Previous Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Legal Administrative Assistant or similar law firm experience
Experience directly supporting attorneys strongly preferred
Strong legal document preparation, formatting and proofreading skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable working with legal databases, document management systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative with attorneys and support staff
Foreclosure, creditors' rights, litigation, banking or financial services experience is a plus
This position is best suited for an experienced legal support professional who can step into an attorney-facing role and take ownership of the administrative details that keep a legal practice running efficiently.
