Experience requirements – Min 2 years of RN experience with leadership and behavioral health experience. Prefers at least 5 years of behavioral health RN experience with 2-5 years of RN leadership experience. They really need to have both operational and people leadership experience, along with psych experience. They have had high turnover in this role in the past due to lacking those two experiences and candidates not comfortable in the psych environment.
Ideal candidate – Forensic experience highly preferred. Looking for a leader with a transformational leadership style. Someone with a quality improvement mindset. A people leader. Willing to work and support front line staff. Someone who is self-motivated and seeking improvement. Comfortable working in extremely challenging situations. Someone who can take charge – they have a few strong personalities within the department.
Education requirements – Bachelors required, Masters Preferred
License/Certification requirements – Missouri RN license, or compact state license. BLS required; CPI will be required and can be obtained within 6 months of hire. They can help them get their CPI.
Patient population/Common Diagnoses – Voluntary and involuntary patient populations. If there is a dual diagnosis, they will typically stay at the main campus (example. Chronically ill, expected mothers, etc.). 18-64 years of age, patients with depression, anxiety, and behavioral health recovery. Intensive, Medicine, Geriatric Psych.
Admits Per Week
Shift and schedule information – Salaried, typically Mon-Fri – responsible for 24/7 coverage and will cover as needed. Will be expected to float between both campuses as needed.There is a shuttle that can take them back and forth as needed. Most administrative work and meetings and such will be done at the main campus.
Management Call requirements – “After hours call” | Call rotates among the nurse manager and the assistant nurse managers. When fully staffed, they will have call once every 5 weeks. right now, the call is about every 2-3 weeks. No defined response time but encouraged to use best judgement and respond/report as soon as possible.

Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards; keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed.
Promotes, and is accountable for customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans and outcomes in work unit.
Research, evaluate, select, and implement systems which improve efficiency of work unit operations.
Supports and assists the growth of existing or new business/programs.
