Reflecting on Our Nurses Week Site Visits

May 23, 2025

We love to celebrate Nurses Week here at Prolink, and in 2025, we did it bigger than ever. Perhaps the most meaningful part of our Nurses Week festivities was our on-site visits to hospitals across the country. Our team jumped at the chance to put care in motion with hand-assembled gift baskets and hand-delivered messages of thanks and gratitude. From the Carolinas to Nebraska and everywhere in between, Prolinkers showed up to care for those who care. Below are a few firsthand accounts from team members who visited nurses in the field.

Karin Marcanio, Talent Experience Clinical Supervisor

I had the pleasure of delivering Nurses Week Baskets to staff and our talent at Kaleida-Buffalo General Medical Center. Both staff and our nurses were surprised and excited with the arrival of the baskets.

When I asked for volunteers for pictures, the staff members couldn't jump in front of the camera fast enough! You could see the joy and excitement of feeling included. It was so inspiring to see staff and Prolink nurses posing together for pictures. You could feel that defining moment of, "We are all in this together". I cannot express how much fun I had on each unit that evening.

Our clinicians put care in motion every day they work. They provide patients with consistent, quality, and compassionate care, which is an important aspect of nursing. In their everyday work, nurses must rely on clinical judgment models to make critical decisions regarding a patient’s needs and interventions. On the human side, they are compassionate, understanding, reassuring, supportive, patient, great listeners and most importantly- advocates for their patients.

Our nurses are people, too. It is important that they receive the same care in motion in return. They should always feel appreciated and loved as well as be able to receive compassion, understanding, reassurance and support for taking such great care of people in their most vulnerable moments. Their job is not easy and they see so much that others would have difficulty coping with.

When I speak to our nurses, I try my best to make them feel like they have someone they can vent to. I am someone that has been in their shoes and can understand some of the frustrations and struggles they endure. I always want them to feel supported by Prolink and that we truly do care. I want them to know we are invested in them and their success with us. I also want them to feel that we are there for them and understanding through their trials and tribulations in life.

Jake Hildebrand at Tenet Health

Jake Hildebrand, Client Relationship Manager

Visiting nurses in Detroit all the way from Chicago was exhilarating! Everyone we ran into was eager to see us, hear where we were from, and appreciative of the gifts. It's always great to have the opportunity to remind nurses that we are more than just voices behind a phone, and we value all of the extremely hard work they put in day in and day out.

At Prolink, I put care in motion by actively listening to the needs of our clients, colleagues, and candidates, and responding with empathy, urgency, and precision. I strive to go beyond simply fulfilling expectations—I focus on building trust, offering support, and creating positive experiences throughout every interaction.

Whether it's solving a problem, anticipating a need, or simply showing appreciation, I see every moment as a chance to make a meaningful impact. To me, care in motion means leading with heart, acting with integrity, and staying committed to the success and well-being of everyone I work with.
