Your Prolink Guide to TravCon 2021 – the Can’t-Miss Conference for Traveling Healthcare Professionals

August 2, 2021

If you’ve been to TravCon before, you already know why this conference is considered the most exciting event in the world of travel healthcare professionals. With five days of fun activities, CEs, and networking opportunities all planned at the Paris Hotel in sunny Las Vegas, there’s no better way to connect with fellow travelers and nurture your travel career. Prolink will be attending TravCon 2021 and can’t wait to meet you at our exhibitor booth! We’ve put this guide together to highlight the events we’re looking forward to, and to help you plan your experience at this year’s conference.

Where to Stay

First things first – if you haven’t booked your lodging yet, now is the time to do so. The first block of rooms at the Paris Hotel has sold out, but group rates for this event are now available at Bally’s next door. Book through this link to access the TravCon group rate. You can also explore private rental options and the TravCon Roommates Facebook page for additional possibilities. Find all the lodging and travel details you need here.

Sessions

All of the sessions outlined below are scheduled to take place in the Paris Conference Center, unless otherwise noted. The full session schedule is available here, and speaker bios can be viewed here. To ensure you claim the contact hours you are eligible for, familiarize yourself with the process and requirements beforehand, including details per specialty.

If you’re new to the world of travel healthcare, you don’t want to miss the Newbie Bootcamp, the pre-conference workshop that covers the ins and outs of the travel healthcare profession (September 26, 9-6:30 PM). The Newbie Bundle Ticket also includes access to the Expert Lunch & Learn, as well as a cocktail reception.

The 60 in 60: Updated for 2021, with Landon Graham James (date and time TBD), promises to deliver useful information for a wide variety of disciplines, with evidence-based updates that you can dive into more deeply after this whirlwind session.

While they’re focused on taking care of the patients they serve, healthcare professionals have to be sure to maintain their own health, too! Traveling poses unique challenge to establishing and sticking to a good fitness routine, which is why we are looking forward to Alex McCoy’s session on Staying Fit on the Road (date and time TBD).

One of the most appealing perks of the travel healthcare profession is the flexibility it offers – travelers can go all over the country, having new adventures while growing their careers. Some travelers take their families along with them, which adds to the joy and the planning required to travel successfully! We can’t wait to hear Joanna Hall share her invaluable insights into how her family has mastered Traveling with Families/Home Schooling (date and time TBD).

Explaining VMS/MSP and what they mean for you with Kathy Kohnke (date and time TBD) is another session we highly recommend! At Prolink, we leverage our VMS and MSP program to serve our Talent and Clients to the best of our ability. De-mystify the terms and let our Prolink representatives explain how we utilize these tools for your benefit.

There’s nothing like humor to bring us together and help us release some of the stress of a high-pressure profession, so we are definitely looking forward to hearing keynote speaker Brenda Elsagher deliver her comedy routine in Laughing with Healthcare Professionals (September 27, 9:45 AM).

Finally, since a contract cancellation is the last thing anyone wants, we’re eager to hear Melissa Knybel’s Strategies to Avoid a Cancellation (date and time TBD), which offers case studies that result in cancellations, as well as tips to avoid them. At Prolink, our recruiters are committed to finding you the best positions that position you for success!

Events and After Party

From morning yoga to a golf tournament to the legendary after party, this year’s TravCon Events offer something for everyone! While we are definitely excited to mingle on the exclusive rooftop of Drai’s Nightclub, there are also dozens of “unofficial” events for TravCon attendees to work into their schedule on the Events page. Special meals, pool parties, cocktails and wine – this is your chance to relax, have fun, and enjoy some rewards for the incredible work you do as travel healthcare professionals.

Traveler Marketplace

The travel healthcare profession can be very close-knit – that’s part of the reason this conference is so much fun! In addition to their traveling healthcare positions, many in this profession are Traveler Entrepreneurs. Whether you want to support your fellow travelers by learning about their businesses, or you have a business of your own to promote, the Traveler Marketplace promises to be an exciting feature in this year’s conference. (This experience is booked separately from the regular conference registration.)

Prolink Exhibitor Booth

We will have some special treats for you at the Prolink exhibitor booth! Find us at booth 143, at the far end of the first row of booths (to your left left once you enter the exhibitor hall). While you enjoy some surprises we have in store, ask our industry experts any questions you have – they’re happy to help. They can fill you in on the benefits of working with Prolink, suggest the best facilities with high pay packages available, or just answer any questions you have as you learn more about the evolving world of travel healthcare.

Have a great time at TravCon and be sure to say hello! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for live updates during the conference.
