Tony and Mike were just 4 and 2 years old when Vince was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 29 and expected to survive no more than a year. True to his character, Vince defied expectations and lived another decade. During that time, he instilled a tireless work ethic, passion for life and, entrepreneurial spirit in his children. His motto was, “Work hard, take risks, and live every day without regret.” This inspired Tony and Mike to found Prolink and ensure its legacy lives on for generations to come.
If you haven’t tried your hand at starting a business, it is one heck of a ride. We will never forget those early years and thought we’d share some key takeaways for any aspiring entrepreneur: 1) The wolf is always at the door. Eat or be eaten. 2) When you are your only motivator and there is no safety net, you will work harder than you ever have in your life. 3) You have one shot to wow every single customer. Anything short of that will not get you to the next day. 4) Build deep relationships at every opportunity. There is no success without the people and communities around you.
It’s a big world out there and so many people in it. To us, that means endless possibilities to connect talented professionals with exceptional organizations no matter their skill set or industry. That’s why we’ve launched four new brands, six divisions, and seven client solution offerings over the past decade. We have no intention of stopping there. Read on for more details on our commitment to innovation!
A people-centered culture and consistent, transparent communication are critical to running an exceptional business. We deliver on those points by intentionally living out each of our six core values, which begin with the “Family First” value. Family First reminds us that our clients, talent, and internal team—the Prolink family—are the heart and soul of everything we do.
How do you create an exceptional staffing experience for every talent and client who partners with you? We’ve asked ourselves this question every day for the past ten years and have found that the answer changes just as often. There are some common themes, however. They include integrity, careful planning, a team of passionate staffing professionals, and a solemn commitment to innovate. No matter what the future holds, we know if we continue applying these learnings to every talent and client touchpoint, we can move mountains together.
In addition to the initiatives spearheaded by our D&I Committee, we have partnered with the McLendon Foundation and power the recruitment efforts of their Minority Leadership Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to provide minorities a jumpstart to their careers by connecting them with professional work opportunities.
Our company vision has remained untouched since we opened our doors—we aim to be a vehicle of personal, professional, and financial growth for anyone who chooses to partner with us. While training and development are provided from day one, over the years we’ve expanded those programs to include more targeted leadership development for all employees at every stage of their careers. Because at the end of the day, we believe you develop people first and business will follow.
Like the rest of the country and the world, COVID shook us to our core—but we chose to meet the many challenges it presented as one united team. We did that by changing our service models, accelerating our digital transformation, developing new policies for internal and external talent alike, and communicating with one another 24/7, 7 days a week for over a year. As we like to say to one another, we ran into the storm as one and always will moving forward.
Our founders’ father Vince was deeply involved in his community. He believed that leaving a positive and lasting legacy should be the highest aim of any individual. This is why the Munafo brothers made community outreach a top priority for Prolink. Each year, our teams vote for causes they feel passionately about. Selected nonprofits enjoy companywide fundraising and volunteering efforts for the remaining term. The result? Hundreds of thousands of dollars and hours have been donated to incredible causes like The Dragonfly Foundation, The Ronald McDonald House, and many more.
Every Prolink team member is challenged to create their legacy by positively impacting the people around them, whether they be clients, talent, the internal team, or the community at large. We believe this small act is the true key to everything we’ve achieved over the past ten years and will be for many years to come. We look forward to serving, innovating, and linking arms with you, our Prolink family. Thank you.
