Get to know Team Prolink! Meet Emily Miller, Recruiter

November 24, 2020

She is corgi obsessed, a fearless world traveler, an outdoor adventure seeker, a cultural explorer & Prolink's very own recruiting phenom.

You relocated to Cincinnati to attend UC. You have studied abroad, where you lived in Southern France and on an at sea Cruise Ship, which traveled around the world. To say you have taken the road less traveled is an understatement. Tell us about a path you took that is different from most.

I never played a sport growing up - I was a part of our competitive robotics teams from 6-12th grade, I captained our high school team of over 150 students for 2 years, and mentored teams in Cincinnati throughout college. I got to learn how to use CAD software’s, program in C# and Java, program and run CNC lathes and CNC laser cutters, you name it; and on the flip side I ran all our community and sponsorship-based events. Very fun.

Aside from moving to new states, which happens to be something you recently did again this year, what do you get unreasonably excited about?

CORGIS – I start crying every time that I see one, I just get so excited. Once I settle down on trying to travel as much as possible, I plan to get one.

It is no secret that you are quite the world traveler.  Tell us about your ideal vacation spot?

Banff National Park, Canada in the summer - do I really need an explanation? Have you seen pictures?? I want to spend a summer hiking and camping and kayaking there.

We know that you are an outdoor adventure seeker; if you had unlimited resources for the next two years, what would you do?

I’d renovate a sprinter van and travel across the US in it, visiting every national park I can.

What is your favorite meal to cook for someone else and what is your guilty pleasure food – that food that makes you want to cry in the shower after eating it?

If I was cooking for someone else, I would make my Vegan Pizza - I’ve recently gotten very into cooking and started making my own pesto, sauce, and vegan cheese for the top. Although, I’d rather just cook it for myself, so I don’t have to share, it’s so good.

My guilty pleasure food is Taco Bell – 2 chalupa supremes and a crunch wrap - beans instead of meat. Never feels good after you eat it but tastes AMAZING.

Smell plays such an important role in our emotions, memory, and mood. What is your favorite smell and why?

Clean Laundry - I’m a little bit of a neat freak, and for some reason the smell of something being “clean” immediately calms me down even if nothing is clean around me.

You told us that you have recruited most skillsets within Prolink and that IT was your favorite recruit. You said that was a hard decision, but you chose IT because you got the chance to use the technical side of your brain. It is obvious you also have a soft spot for helping people, no matter what walk of life they are in.  We know you find this career very rewarding, but what do you pride yourself on most as a recruiter?

I pride myself on the relationships I build with my talent--at the end of the day I am a resource to them to help them find a job and I know how important that “job” can be for most--it puts food on the table for their kids, it allows them to travel to see family they haven’t seen in a while, it allows them opportunities clinically to advance in their careers; I work with some rock stars, and I want to make sure that at the end of the day I’ve connected them to the best opportunities out there so they can drive at their personal and professional goals, too.
