The Co-Ed Adolescent Mood Disorder Unit is for the multi-disciplinary assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and stabilization of adolescent female and male patients. Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized.
Shift/Hours:
Days/Evenings: FT, 7:00am - 3:30pm & 3:00pm - 11:30pm (rotating)
Compensation:
Pay: Starting at $32/hr.
Sign-On Bonus: $6,000 for RN's.
Must Haves:
License: MA RN License
Certification: AHA approved BLS/CPR certification
Experience: New Grads Accepted.
Education: Associate's Degree
Preferred:
Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred. May prefer a more experienced nurse will still consider a new grad.
About the Unit:
# of beds: 12
Patient population: Adolescent Male and Female ages 12-17 yrs old
Common diagnoses: Mood Disorders
Nurse to patient ratio: 1:7
Average # of admits per day/week: 2/day
Are there any opportunities for growth? Charge Nurse. Continuing education opportunities to include tuition reimbursement offered. Clinical Education and Human Resources may provide upcoming opportunities.
What type of personality works well in this department? Calm | Easy going | Compassionate | Patient
