Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
2.    Attains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of practice.
3.    Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
4.    Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
5.    Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
6.    Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
7.    Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
8.    Identifies patients correctly by using two unique ways. 
9.    Observes, checks and monitors all equipment used to confirm that items are functioning properly.
10.    Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations.
11.    Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed. 
12.    A Staff Nurse Level II maintains competency reflective of current standards practice, guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care, and enhances own professional growth and development


Shift/Hours
Night Shift: FT, 36 hrs/wk, 7:00pm - 7:30am


Compensation
Pay: New grad starting rate is $34.75. Rate increases with experience. 
Tuition Reimbursement:  Full-time (0.9 FTE) employees can receive up to 5K per year in tuition reimbursement for approved degree programs. 


Requirements
License: Current IL RN License.     
Certification: American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire depending on the unit requirements.    
Experience: A Staff Nurse Level II requires at least one year of experience as a staff nurse and demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.  A Staff Nurse Level I does not require experience.    
Education: ADN     


Preferred:    
RN experience with direct patient care is preferred. Will accept new grads for most med/surg units. Our Cardiac Care/Tele Unit is only seeking experienced RNs right now.


About the Unit: 
Number of Beds:     Varies by unit. Ranges between 16-39
Patient Population:    Adult - med/surg tele
Common Diagnosis:    Ischemic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, intracranial hemorrhage, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, encephalitis, rule out shortness of breath, rule out chest pain, uncontrolled atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia

Average number of admits per day or week:     Will provide specifics in interview
